Friday’s introductory lecture explains how emotions entrain our breathing. By understanding the function of breath we can learn how to change our emotional patterns. We will look at the physiology of breathing and find how every breath effects the function of our brain and consciousness. This is a practical experience, bring your diaphragm and lungs.

Saturday’s workshop introduces a clear way to enhance your mental function. Utilizing nutrition, breathing exercises and advances in neuropsychology we will find specific ways to enhance memory, attention and stability in the mind. We will explore the history of these methods in yoga, meditation and natural health care. Our goal is to enhance our emotional balance and concentration that can be applied in every area of our lives.

We will also find how we can enhance the body’s own systems for detoxification and energy production. This is a class for therapists, yogis, athletes and healers.

A basic understanding of how our bodies operate opens up doors to understanding its relationship to the mind. Our model incorporates both biochemical  and  creative  approaches to how we learn. In this unique 5-day Therapy Training with John Friend the potent therapeutic power of the Universal Principles of Alignment™ will be revealed. John will address a variety of musculo-skeletal injuries and misalignments related to the lower back, hips, shoulders, necks, knees, elbows, feet, and wrists. Yoga teachers and experienced students will be instructed how to perform, observe, and adjust a variety of fundamental poses to prevent and clear these injuries. John will be presenting two levels in this Weekend Workshop, a Mixed Level and an Intermediate/Advanced Level workshop. The Weekend Workshop is considered to be a complete experience in itself. All the classes are progressive and build upon each other. In the first class, John will lead everyone from the beginning, introducing the Universal Principles of Alignment™. Each class will go deeper into these fundamental principles.
